Twilio

The Twilio toolkit connects Arcade agents to the Twilio Messaging API, enabling LLM tools to send SMS messages and read inbound/outbound SMS history through a Twilio account.

Capabilities

• Send SMS — send a message from any SMS-capable Twilio number on the account; returns the message SID and delivery status. Trial accounts are limited to verified destination numbers.
• Read conversations — list the full two-way SMS exchange with a single contact (messages sent to and received from that contact), paginated newest-first with cursor support.
• List received messages — retrieve inbound SMS for a specific Twilio number, paginated newest-first with cursor continuity per number and page size.
• Discover phone numbers — enumerate SMS-capable numbers on the account in ascending order, with cursor-based paging.

Secrets

This toolkit uses no OAuth flow. All authentication is handled via three Twilio credentials configured as Arcade secrets.

• TWILIO_ACCOUNT_SID — the unique identifier for your Twilio account, found on the Twilio Console dashboard under Account Info. It begins with AC.
• TWILIO_API_KEY_SID — the SID of a Twilio API Key, which acts as a scoped credential separate from your main account password. Create one in the Twilio Console under Account → API Keys & Tokens → Create API Key. Choose a Standard key for most uses. The SID is shown immediately after creation and begins with SK.
• TWILIO_API_KEY_SECRET — the secret paired with the API Key above. It is displayed only once at the moment of API key creation in the Twilio Console; copy and store it immediately. If lost, the key must be revoked and a new one created. See Twilio's API Keys documentation for full details.
